The A460, which runs from Wolverhampton to Rugeley, and the A51, which passes through Tamworth, Lichfield and Stone, before ending at Chester. To facilitate the development and expansion of new employment areas at the former colliery site as well as to reduce congestion in the centre of the town, a new east bypass opened in 2007.
