General information about Stafford
Tamworth is a town in Staffordshire, England. The town dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period and was first mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. It grew into a market town and was granted a charter by King Henry II in 1179.
The town’s market is still held today and is one of the largest in the Midlands. Tamworth is also home to TAMfest, a music festival which takes place every year in July, and the Snowdome, an indoor ski slope.
The town has a population of approximately 77,000 people.

Tamworth is well-connected, with good road and rail links. The town has its own railway station, which is served by regular trains to Birmingham, Derby and Nottingham.
The M42 motorway runs through the town, providing access to the M1 and M6 motorways. There are also regular bus services to nearby Birmingham, as well as Coventry and Leicester.
